Why is the plane always used the left door
Although there are doors on both sides, passengers are usually always disembarked through the left side door.

Passengers do not appear to be too concerned about which side of the plane is being lifted. But if they ever notice, they will see that even though there are doors on both sides, passengers are always taken off the plane through the door on the left side. There is a special reason behind this; Which reminds us of the time when waterways were the only means of transportation.

A content creator named Dougie Sharpe recently provided a historical analysis of TikTok aircraft doors being on the left side. He is known for sharing fun and quirky facts. Dougi said in the video, “In ancient times, passengers and goods were loaded and unloaded from the left side of the boats.”

By doing this, the ships could easily move to the ports of all the countries of the world. Because, the necessary goods of the ship were always right on the side”, said Dougi.

This side of the ship became known as the ‘port side’ for sailing on the port side; The opposite right side is named ‘Starboard’. According to this tradition, the modern aviation system has been arranged.

Note that the right side of the ship used to have the steering board; That’s where the word ‘starboard’ comes from.

Based on this, Dougie Sharp said, “While aviation has become an essential part of civilization over time, engineers still cling to the tradition.” All airplanes and airports in the world are designed in such a way that passengers can take off from the left side.’

This was confirmed by Michael Oakley, managing editor of The Aviation Historian website. He said that many terms of the aviation sector have been taken from the maritime sector.

Same is the case with boarding the plane. The side that is used as the port side in ships and boats, the same approach is adopted in airplanes.
