The Congress party is poised to form the government in Haryana with a significant majority, according to data from the Boothferat survey. The survey results indicate that the BJP will not be able to secure a third consecutive term in the state. This marks the Congress’ return to power in Haryana after a decade. Meanwhile, in Kashmir, Congress’ ally, the National Conference (NC), appears to be leading.

The Boothferat survey, reported by NDTV, suggests that Congress could win between 55 to 62 seats in the Haryana Assembly elections, while the BJP is projected to win 20 to 32 seats. The Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) may secure up to three seats, and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) could win between three and six seats.

Indian Express reported that voting in Haryana began at 7 AM local time and continued until 6 PM, with a turnout of 61% by 5 PM.

In another survey by People’s Pulse, the Congress is also expected to secure a significant victory, with 55 seats projected for the party. The BJP could hold 26 seats, while the JJP may win just one seat, and the INLD could claim two or three seats.

Hindustan Times noted that in the 2014 Haryana Assembly elections, the BJP achieved a single majority with 47 seats, a feat predicted by most exit polls at the time.

Meanwhile, in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP is projected to secure 26 seats in the Assembly elections, while Congress and the NC could together win a maximum of 43 seats. However, according to Boothferat, no party is expected to win a clear majority. Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is projected to win eight seats.
