Bollywood star Deepika Padukone recently welcomed her first child, a baby girl, into her family. While the actress and her husband, Ranveer Singh, are enjoying this new chapter in their lives, Deepika has revealed that adjusting to motherhood has come with its own set of challenges.

Speaking at an event hosted by her foundation, Live Love Laugh, in a conversation with Ariana Huffington on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Deepika candidly shared her experiences as a new mother. She acknowledged the difficulties she has faced, including stress and lack of sleep.

“When we don’t sleep properly and stress builds up, we often make poor decisions,” Deepika said. “I notice it myself sometimes. On the days I don’t get enough rest or don’t take care of myself, I feel more stressed and overwhelmed. It becomes harder to make decisions, and I can feel the pressure weighing on me.”

The actress also reflected on the emotional ups and downs that come with motherhood. She spoke about feelings of grief, suffering, and anger, emphasizing that these emotions are a natural part of life.

“It’s completely normal to feel angry or to suffer sometimes,” Deepika shared. “But what’s important is how we react to these emotions. What we learn from them, and how we channel them positively, is key. Patience and understanding are essential.”

Deepika and Ranveer became parents on September 8, 2024, after nearly six years of marriage. As they embrace their new roles, Deepika’s openness about the struggles of motherhood offers a reminder that even celebrities face challenges when it comes to balancing mental health and personal life.
