I would have given more money than IMF if I had friendship

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

If India had friendly relations at the moment, the country would have given Pakistan a bigger bailout package than the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This is what Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said. He said this at an election rally in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipura district on Sunday.

While speaking at an election rally, Rajnath Singh referred to the development package announced by Narendra Modi in 2014-15 for Jammu and Kashmir, according to Indian media outlet Indian Express.

India’s defense minister said at the time, “Modiji announced a special package for the development of Jammu and Kashmir in 2014-15, which has now reached 90 thousand crore rupees. It is much more than what Pakistan has requested from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

At this time, this BJP leader reminded of a comment of the former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Atal Bihari Vajpayee said, ‘We can change friends, but not neighbours.’

Rajnath Singh said, ‘My Pakistani friends, I am telling you. Why the tension in the relationship? We are neighbors. If we had good relations, we would have given you more money than the IMF.

Rajnath also claimed that although India is giving money for the development of Kashmir, Pakistan is giving it in the wrong direction.
