India's security adviser Doval summoned to US court

Gurupatwant Singh Pannun

A US court has summoned India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on charges of involvement in a conspiracy to kill Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) leader Gurupatwant Singh Pannun. The Southern New York District Court has also summoned the Indian government and former RAW chief Samantha Goel in the case.

According to a report by Indian media Anandabazar Online, in addition to Doval and Goel, a man named Vikram Yadav identified as an agent of “RA” and Indian businessman Nikhil Gupta, who is in the custody of America, has also been identified as “involved in the murder conspiracy” in the New York court documents. The American court has asked the Indian government to respond in this regard within 21 days.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to America next Saturday to attend the session of the United Nations General Assembly. Before that, this incident is believed to create tension between New Delhi and Washington.

Nikhil was initially convicted in a US court last November of his involvement in the conspiracy to kill Pannun. Nikhil was arrested by Czech Republic authorities in June last year. Later, the American intelligence agency FBI brought it to New York and tried it.

According to the US, Nikhil had hired an assassin to kill Pannun. He also gave the killer fifteen thousand dollars in advance for this. After the demand of America, noise naturally started in India. Modi government announced to provide all legal assistance to Nikhil. Several times Indian diplomats also met with Nikhil.
