US ally Japan has sent warships in this channel amidst the ongoing tension between China and America over Taiwan. The Japanese warship JS Sazanami was spotted in the Taiwan Strait on Wednesday. This information is known from a report of the British media BBC.

BBC says that this is the first time that Japan has sent a warship to the Taiwan Strait, the area between China and Taiwan. The Japanese warship (naval destroyer) JS Sazanami moves from north to south at this time. Several ships from Australia and New Zealand were also there.

Quoting some Japanese ministers, the country’s media say that this warship is going to participate in military exercises in the South China Sea. And for that this path has been chosen for the first time. However, no Japanese minister has clearly stated the reason for choosing this path.

The US conflict over Taiwan has eased a bit recently, but this time warships may start provocation again. China claims Taiwan as part of itself. But Taiwan claims to be a separate country. The excitement about this has been a bit high for the past few years.

In the meantime, the Japanese warship went to the Taiwan Strait. So far no comment from the Chinese government has been received in this regard. Even Japan or Taiwan did not directly comment on this.

However, in a report by China’s state-run Global Times, an unnamed source said that the Chinese military is closely monitoring the ships coming through the Taiwan Strait. They said that there is no risk with this ship so far.

Earlier, the leaders of the alliance expressed deep concern about the South China Sea at the recent Quad summit. The alliance leaders discussed increasing security cooperation in the Indian Ocean at this conference. America’s local time, last Saturday in Delaware, the summit of the four-nation alliance Quad formed in the overall security of the Indo-Pacific region was held.

The leaders of America, Australia, India and Japan have expressed ‘deep concern’ about the situation in the South and East China Seas. US President Joe Biden led the conference. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese were present.

Quad leaders discussed plans for joint coast guard operations and maritime surveillance to strengthen maritime security. Besides, they also agreed to supply important technologies to the Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia.
