Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with several world leaders at the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. On the summit’s opening day, he exchanged greetings with leaders from Brazil, Singapore, and Spain.

Modi was warmly received by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is hosting the summit. Modi expressed gratitude on social media, stating, “Looking forward to the G20 activities in Rio de Janeiro. Thankful to President Lula for the warm welcome.”

On the sidelines, Modi met UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, describing their discussions as “wonderful” on his X account. He also engaged with Spanish President Pedro Sánchez, referencing their recent meeting in Vadodara, India, and remarking, “Talks continue from Vadodara to Rio.”

In his speech, Modi highlighted the impact of global conflicts on the Global South, particularly regarding food, energy, and fertilizer crises, urging the G20 to address these challenges.

The two-day summit, concluding Tuesday, focuses on global issues, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Gaza situation, with key leaders in attendance.
