Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Monday that last month’s airstrikes targeted an element of Iran’s nuclear program, reducing Tehran’s missile and defense capabilities.

In a speech to parliament, Netanyahu confirmed, “This attack hit a specific element of their nuclear program.” While he did not elaborate, he noted it did not stop Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons.

The strikes followed Iran’s October 1 missile launch on Israel, which Tehran claimed was in retaliation for the alleged assassination of key leaders by Israel. Israel countered the attack with airstrikes on October 26, targeting sites in Tehran and two other provinces. Netanyahu further claimed that the strikes destroyed Iran’s remaining S-300 air defense systems.

Despite Israel’s actions, Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasserzadeh stated that the attacks did not affect Iran’s missile production.
